SIMANGGANG: A total of 50 students participated in the 37th Chinese Primary School Mathematics Quiz at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Chung Hua Simanggang here recently.
The programme was organised by the Youth Federation of Kayinchu Malaysia in collaboration with the Persatuan Guru-Guru Sekolah Rendah Aliran Bahasa Cina Bahagian Sri Aman – Betong.
It involved students from nine SJKC Chung Hua schools in the Betong and Sri Aman divisions.
Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, commended the organisers for successfully hosting this nationwide programme.
Harden emphasised the importance of students mastering and developing an interest in mathematics, aligning with the goals of the Ministry to promote students’ interest in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) subjects.”This is because, to produce quality human capital, proficiency in
TVET is essential in line with the aspirations of the state of Sarawak, which is actively implementing a digital economy based on green technology, renewable energy, and aiming for high-income state status by 2030,” he said.
Also present at the event were Persatuan Guru-Guru Sekolah Rendah Aliran Bahasa Cina Bahagian Sri Aman – Betong Adviser Goh Kaw Sze.
