KUCHING: 51 recipients received the Excellence Service Award (APC) of Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sarawak for 2017 at Imperial Hotel here on Thursday night.
General Director of Road Transport Department (JPJ), Dato’ Sri Shaharuddin Khalid said that out of the total of 8000 JPJ officers in Malaysia, only 8 percent from the total are given the APC as it is the maximum quota of APC recipient for each year.
“With the overall total of 684 recipients nationwide, 51 recipients are from Sarawak. “Although there are quota set up for the APC recipient, I found out that actually all of the JPJ officers in Malaysia including in Sarawak have high an excellence achievement,” he said in his speech. He said that every recipient received APC certificate and achievement prize of RM1000.
“The department always recognises excellent work culture, commitment and contributions given by civil servants including awarding and rewarding,” he added.
He hoped the award will be a motivation to every officer to give commitment and enhance the work effort to achieve high quality work and productivity. At the same event, a total of nine JPJ officers, who will be retiring this year, were also been given appreciation.
