DALAT: A total of 520 needy persons in Dalat constituency received wang zakat from Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah on Thursday.
Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Dalat Branch Women chief Hatiah Sepawi, who represented Fatimah, handed over the contribution to all the party’s sub-branch Skuad Sayang Plus chiefs at a simple handover ceremony here.
The Skuad Sayang chiefs are expected to distribute the wang zakat, a personal contribution from Fatimah, to the recipients at their homes.
Fatimah who is also the Dalat assemblywoman hoped that the contribution would help lighten their burden especially in preparing for the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
