KUCHING: The State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) transported a total of 53 victims to a temporary transfer centre (PPS) at Kampung Buntal.
The PPS opened on Sunday at noon following continuous heavy downpour over the past few days.
According to the Bomba operations centre, no transfer had been carried out as of 11am yesterday.
In a report, Bomba identified two villages affected by rising waters — Kampung Buntal and Kampung Sungai Lumut.
Yesterday, water level in rivers across Sarawak slowly subsided and there were no reports on heavy rain or storms.
There are daily Bomba patrols at flood-prone areas around Kuching and Kota Samarahan.
