54 Mukah Polytechnic employees brush up on MS Office

MUKAH: A total of 54 employees of Mukah Polytechnic (PMU) attended the MS Office (Microsoft Word and Excel) course here.

They consisted of PMU support staff namely administrative assistant, operations assistant, librarian assistant and driver.

The two-day course was held from Aug 26 to 27 to test the understanding of each participant.

According to Training and Further Education Unit head Roziah Zainal Abidin on Friday (Aug 28),  the objectives were to ensure that participants understood the use of MS Office and apply the latest MS Office software in official tasks.

Deputy director (academic support) Iskandar Reduan explained that the use of MS Office in carrying out daily tasks information and data was always needed for specific purposes such as improving ones knowledge, experience, skills and abilities.

“In addition, through strong mastery of this course, it can also ease the control for each work document that has been produced.

“Among other things, basic knowledge in the field of computers is very necessary nowadays and it is very helpful in the life of almost every human being whether in the field of education, business and employment.”

Among the topics covered were Introduction to Microsoft Word 2016, formatting the Basic Functions Document and Constructing the Table and Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2016, and Excel Basic Functions.
