SARIKEI: A total of 40 students and 11 teachers of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Su Hing participated in the study visit to the Fire and Rescue Station Sarikei here.
The programme aimed to expose the students on the duties and responsibilities of the firefighters.
Through the visit, participants had the opportunity to witness the rescue task being performed as well as being exposed with the equipments used by the firefighter when faced with an emergency.
Indirectly, the programme was able to expose and possibly attract more young people to a career as firemen.
Through briefing sessions, participants gained some important information such as discipline, ethics and measures to be undertaken when rescuing the victims.
Accordingly, the Fire and Rescue Station of Sarikei invited the attendance of any party wishing to hold a similar visit.
