KUCHING: A total of 56 compound notices were issued to errant individuals for failing to comply with the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) from Oct 12 till last Sunday (Oct 18).

Kuching district police chief ACP Awang Din Awang Gani said 47 men and nine women were found to have violated the recovery movement control order (RMCO) SOPs.

“The compounds were issued to the individuals in separate inspections around Kuching.

“From the inspections carried out around the city, the police have inspected an entertainment centre at Jalan Padungan and issued 14 compounds to the patrons for failing to comply with the SOPs,” he said in a statement.

The individuals were compounded in accordance with Regulation 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) (No 7) Regulations 2020.

All were given a 14-day period from the date of the compound to settle the RM1,000 fine at the Kuching Division Health office.
