DEBAK: A total of 56 villagers, including 10 heads of household, have been relocated to the Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) at Millennia Debak Hall on Friday.

This comprises 33 adults, 18 children, an infant, three elderly individuals, and one person with disabilities (PwD).

This relocation comes in response to rising water levels in the Sungai Ulu Rimbas due to continuous rainfall since January 11, resulting in flash floods.

According to Debak Civil Defence Force (APM), as of 6 am on Thursday, water levels reached up to two metres, expected to further increase due to the swift flow of water from the river.

Authorities were also extending assistance to flood victims accommodated at the evacuation centre.
