SRI AMAN: Five hundred and seventy three individuals from Tanjung Rembai, Skrang and Engkelili received their land titles during a ceremony recently.
The land titles under Section 18 (agriculture) of the Land Code was presented by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
Tengah, in his speech, reminded the recipients to cultivate their land at the optimal level in order to increase their income.
He pointed out that the state government had allocated RM40 million for the land perimeter survey in the state.
“Under the new federal government, no allocation was provided. Knowing its importance, the state government had allocated the amount to conduct perimeter survey work,” he said.
Tengah added that as at December 2018, a total of 2.1 million acres had been surveyed.
Also present during the ceremony were Industrial Development Assistant Minister Malcolm Mussen, Sri Aman MP Masir Kujat and Engkelili assemblyman Dr Johnical Rayong Ngipa.
