KUCHING: Six hundred bags of dry food aid were distributed in conjunction with Hui Sing Food Court’s 28th anniversary and the final Caring Food Aid 3.0 assistance of the Kuching and Samarahan Division Hawkers and Traders Association.
According to a statement from the association yesterday (Friday), the Caring Food Aid is an initiative to assist its members and residents of Kuching and Samarahan that are facing hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our association helped the needy with our ‘Pack Cooked Meal Aid’ programme from June 2021 till August 2021 by donating 300 cooked meals every day.
“We are happy and grateful to 38 Food Street Café, our main sponsor of the Caring Food Aid 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 which, since September until today, has given out unconditionally nearly 9,000 bags of dry food rations,” it disclosed.
The association also thanked the main sponsors of the Caring Food Aid 3.0 assistance for their kind and generous assistance in making the charity event a success.
The bags of food aid were distributed by the association’s guest of honour, Datuk Song Swee Guan, in appreciation of his contribution to building the Hui Sing Food Court when he was the Kuching South City Council Mayor.
