MUKAH: Sixty-two percent of residents in Mukah Division have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so far.

Mukah Division health officer Dr Huzaimah Husin said for the second dose, 15.2 percent of folk had been vaccinated.

“It is estimated that some 77,737 people in Mukah Division have registered for the vaccine so far,” she told the media during a visit by Sarawak federal secretary Datuk Amir Omar to the Dewan Suarah Mesra immunisation centre (PPV) here today.

According to her, registration was not only done through the MySejahtera app but also other initiatives such as the village development and security committees and district offices.

Dr Huzaimah revealed that 680 people were vaccinated on Thursday, and the local Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force had been promised additional doses of the vaccine.

She and Amir then attended a meeting at Dewan Suarah Mesra.
