KUCHING: Sixty-three houses were repaired in the Batu Kitang constituency in the last two years.

Its assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang revealed that during a visit to a dilapidated house in Kampung Sinar Baru, Jalan Puncak Borneo here yesterday.

“I have to thank Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for the special funds provided,” said Lo to pressman.

“The state government allocates RM1 million each year which is used to repair dilapidated houses in each constituency.

Lo asserted that the allocation helps the less fortunate and those in need of help.

“This is a beautiful thing that we are doing and made possible by our chief minister,” he added.

Among those present were Rajah Charles Brooke Memorial Hospital (RCBM) Heritage Society president Angelina Jong and Community Welfare department representative Phua Poi Kang.
