KUCHING: Police have issued 66 compounds to individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement, said Kuching recorded the most with 50 compounds issued, followed by 14 compounds in Serian and one compound each in Betong and Sarikei.
The committee said the police would continue to tighten the SOPs including the use of face masks and social distancing in public places.
It added 1,260 premises were monitored for SOP compliance.
These included 320 restaurants, supermarkets (129), public markets (72), banks (63), places of workshop (49), hawker stalls (42), leisure places (34), five construction sites, a government office, a factory and others (490).
The committee also revealed that 1,369 vehicles were inspected at six “Ops Benteng” roadblocks in five districts — two in Lundu and one each in Bau, Serian, Sri Aman and Lubok Antu.
