SAFE AND SOUND…A fireman carries a young flood victim to safety in lower Batang Sadong early today. The young girl was among those being evacuated to a relief centre following an alert on the rising water level at Kampung Lubuk Meranti, Ulu Sebangan.

Personnel from the six agencies were mobilised to the scene at 7.45am.

The State Disaster Management Committee secretariat said six agencies were involved in the evacuation process namely, the police force, Malaysia Civil Defence Force (APM), the Welfare Department, Rela, District Office and the Simunjan District Council.

The number of flood victims placed at Kampung Lutong, Sebangan hall in Simunjan dropped slightly from 67 people from 18 families in the morning to 60 from 15 families at 4pm yesterday.
