MUKAH: Some 68 participants from 34 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) attended a programme aimed at empowering women at a leading hotel here on Saturday.
The ‘Women of Wonders: Empowering Sarawak Women NGOs’ programme was held from Sept 7 to 8.
Its objectives were to strengthen strategic collaboration between the state Women and Family Department and active women NGOs in Sarawak.
It was also meant to get feedback and new ideas from NGOs to improve future programmes.
Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah officiated at the event.
The Dalat assemblywoman also handed over Endowment Fund Sarawak (EFS) to three babies, as well as annual government grants (GTK) to three recipients.
State Women and Family Department director Noriah Ahmad, Mukah Division Resident Hamdiah Bakir and Dalat District officer Kueh Lei Poh were also present.
