KUCHING: A total of 68 longhouses are still under lockdown, said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
In a statement today, it said 2,802 Covid-19 positive cases or 18.09 percent from the total number of cases reported were traced back to longhouses in the state.
“From 32,380 individuals who went for Covid-19 screening, 2,082 cases tested positive,” SDMC said, adding that 279 longhouses in Sarawak were placed under lockdown in efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19.
“Of the total, 211 longhouses were allowed to be released from the lockdown order,” it said.
The committee said the state had successfully vaccinated 24,030 individuals since the start of the immunisation programme on Feb 26.
