KUCHING: The 6th Mile flyover near here is finally opened for public use from today.
Senior Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the two lanes near the flyover are projects under the Kuching-Serian WPC02 Section of the Sarawak Pan Borneo Highway Project (LPB).
“The bridge at 6th Mile (near the Kuching Sentral area) is finally opened for public use.
“This means that almost all flyovers in Kuching can now be used,” he said.
He said this when met by the media after officiating at the closing ceremony of the State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) Maal Hijrah festival at Masjid Jamek Sarawak today.
As to date, 6th Mile, 7th Mile, 4th Mile and 10th Mile flyovers are among the flyover projects along Jalan Kuching-Serian under the Pan Borneo Highway project.
Meanwhile, commenting on the recent China’s Long March 5B rocket debris detected crossing Malaysia’s airspace including around Sarawak, Fadillah said that it reportedly fell around the Sulu Sea (referring to the National Space Agency).
“I could not comment further on the matter because it is not my area of expertise. But for more information on the matter can refer to the National Space Agency,” he said.
