KUCHING: A total of seven new faces were sworn in as political secretaries to the Premier in a ceremony at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.
They were among 20 individuals who took their oath of office before Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Of the seven new appointees, five are from Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), one from Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and one from Progressive Democratic Party (PDP).
Among them are Hajis Japar Labaw (PBB), Dominic Nyurang Ajang (PBB), Watson Awan Jalai (PBB), Colin Patan (PBB), Afiq Fikri Brahim (PBB), Thomas Balan Bang (PRS) and Joshua Ting Fu Ying (PDP).
Meanwhile, 13 others were reappointed to the position. Of them, 10 are from PBB, one from SUPP, one from PRS and one from PDP.
Representing PBB are Petrus Igat Mathias, Sarkawi Suhaili, Romeo Christopher Tegong, Fridah Osman, Dayang Nurfizawati Abang Abdul Karim, Abdul Samat Gany, John Nyigor, Damen Rejek, Sayed Azmee Wan Junaidi and Awangku Jinal Abedin Datuk Pengiran Jawa.
Susan Clement Ingun (PRS), Fung Kok Shiun @ Brian Fung (PDP) and Niponi Undek (SUPP) were also sworn in.
Also present during the ceremony were Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian; Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development and PRS president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum.
Other dignitaries were Deputy Ministers Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya, Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat, Datuk Dr Penguang Manggil, Datuk Liwan Lagang, Chief Political Secretary to the Premier, Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman and State Secretary Datuk Amar Abu Bakar Marzuki.
