SIBU: Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) and the Brooke Drive Neighbourhood Committee (KRT Persiaran Brooke) jointly launched a cleaning campaign/spring cleaning 2024 at Tiong Hua Road Market here recently.
About 70 participants from government agencies and the private sector including those from Sibu Division National Unity and Integration Office, Jalan Oya Health Clinic, Pelita Maslaut Sdh Bhd and Doremart Supermarket took part in the campaign.
Among those present were Sibu Division Assistant Unity Officer Mohamad Noridzwan Sawi and Councillor Augustine Meraikan from SMC.
According to the KRT Persiaran Brooke chairlady Melinda Wong Kwong Hung, the campaign aimed to raise awareness of cleanliness in the community and to encourage the people to keep their homes and surroundings clean and in good order to ensure clean and healthy environments.
“Through this campaign, we also hope to bring the people together and enhance social bonds besides fostering goodwill and unity among various races,” Wong further stated.
