KUCHING: A total of 71 individuals received Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB)’s 2018 Scholarship Award.
Out of the total, 57 outstanding students received the award which would enable them to further their studies while the remaining 14 were employees of SEB who were continuing their education while working with the company.
According to Group CEO Sharbini Suhaili, RM8 million is allocated annually to the programme in support of the development in education.
“These 71 recipients have been chosen from a pool of more than 100 applicants and this is something that they should be proud of.
“One of the best investments is in education and the young people as it provides the best way to move forward.
“It is a privilege to play a key role in securing the future,” he said during the award ceremony which took place at Riverside Majestic Hotel here yesterday.
He later described the programme as a social investment which would generate strong returns.
“It is our commitment to supporting and developing potential talents and leaders in Sarawak,” he said.
