KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 72 Covid-19 cases during the sixth epidemiology (epid) week (Feb 5-12) compared to 108 during Epid Week 5 (Jan 29 to Feb 4).
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its weekly Covid-19 update, disclosed that the new cases brought the cumulative cases in Sarawak to 324,466.
During Epid Week 6, 69 out of the 72 cases were in category one and two while three cases were in category three, four and five.
SDMC said in the same period, Kuching recorded the highest number of cases at 31, followed by Miri (nine), Sibu (six) and Samarahan (five).
Four cases were reported in Bintulu, three in Dalat, two each in Bau, Kapit, Sarikei and Subis, and one each in Serian, Mukah, Betong, Sri Aman, Simunjan and Marudi.
During Epid Week 5, SDMC said 106 out of the 108 cases were in category one and two while two cases were in category three, four and five.
It added that during the same period, Kuching recorded 50 cases; Sibu, 10; Bintulu, 10; and Samarahan and Miri, eight each.
Four cases were reported each in Dalat and Serian, three each in Bau and Kapit, two in Sarikei, and one each in Mukah, Betong, Meradong, Sebuyau, Matu and Sri Aman.
No deaths were recorded in both of the epidemiology weeks.
