KUCHING: Seventy-two notices were handed to motorists for committing various traffic offences in an operation dubbed ‘Ops Pengarah’ on Friday (Sept 6).
The Sarawak Road Transport Department (RTD) said that the operation, focused on comprehensive enforcement on private and commercial vehicles, was held along Mile 15, Jalan Kuching-Serian.
“During the operation, our team inspected 716 vehicles and issued 72 non-compliance notices.
“Among the offences detected include using a phone while driving, driving without a licence, possessing expired road tax, technical violations and illegal vehicle modifications,” the department said.
In light of this, all road users are reminded to exercise caution while on the road and adhere to the traffic laws.
