A TOTAL of 754 new households across 43 villages and longhouses in the Majau, Mam, Batu Luking, Poi, and Menalun areas of Kanowit, Sibu Division, will benefit from the Rural Water Supply Project (BALB).

Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said the project includes pipe installation, construction of water storage tanks, booster pump systems, and other related works.

He noted that the BALB project has been submitted to the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) under Rolling Plan 5 (RP5) of the Twelfth Malaysia Plan (RMK-12) for 2025.

However, he said the project is still awaiting approval.

Abdul Rahman was responding to a query from Allan Siden Gramong (GPS-Machan), who had inquired about the status of the project during the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today.
