SRI AMAN: The Fire and Rescue Services Department (Sri Aman BOMBA) held a ‘gotong royong’ to clean Darul Syakirin Mosque at Kampung Muhibbah here in conjunction with this year’s International Firefighter’s Day.
Its spokesman, Jilin Itar said a total of 79 people participated in the ‘gotong royong’ led by Sri Aman BOMBA chief, William Baheng.
“This ‘gotong-royong’ involves 32 BOMBA personnel, seven Tanjung Engkabang Volunteer Firefighters (PBS) and 40 residents of Kampung Muhibbah.
The main objective of this activity is to celebrate this year’s Sri Aman BOMBA-level International Firefighter’s Day.
Besides, it is also part of out our social responsibility and also to create rapport between the local community and our personnel,” he said.
Jalin added that the activity involved painting, wall plastering, cleaning of parking area and the mosque interior.
A participant, Ramli Abu Sera, praised the effort of Sri Aman BOMBA to clean and brighten up the village mosque.
“On behalf of the residents of Kpg Muhibbah, I wish to thank Sri Aman BOMBA and volunteers of PBS Tanjung Engkabang involved in this ‘gotong royong’,” he said.
