MUKAH: The Malaysian Accounting Students Symposium 2022 received positive participation from 80 accounting diploma students of Mukah Polytechnic (PMU).
The two-day symposium held at the PMU commerce lecture hall from Sept 7 to 8 was organised by the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ) online (Zoom Application) via Zoom application.
The programme was also attended by accounting students from various colleges and universities.
PMU, in a statement, recently pointed out that the programme was one of the accounting professional body’s efforts to provide a true picture of a career as an accountant in Malaysia.
“It also aims to give exposure to students about the career and challenges as an accountant.
“The main objective of this programme is to expose accounting students to the profession and the corporate world as well as to the ethics and challenges of being an accountant,” it said.
It added that the MICPA and CAANZ Malaysian Accounting Students Symposium 2022 is an annual programme organised by the two bodies for the accounting diploma students in semester four through seven.
The closing ceremony was officiated by MICPA chief executive officer Novie Tajuddin.
