MIRI: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak, Miri, successfully concluded its fourth quarterly Blood Donation Campaign in collaboration with the Miri Hospital Blood Bank.
Held at the Miri Library Lobby, the campaign attracted 113 participants and collected 81 bags of blood.
Corporate Management Officer Shirley Szebah Mambai emphasised the campaign’s dual purpose of addressing blood supply needs and fostering community spirit.
“Donating blood is not only a noble act but also fosters a sense of social responsibility and raises awareness about the importance of donating blood to save lives. At the same time, it instils a spirit of volunteerism within the community,” she said.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, which focuses on good health and wellbeing, the campaign promotes healthy lifestyles and encourages responsibility toward societal needs. It also reflects efforts to build a compassionate and caring community, ensuring universal wellbeing.
To show appreciation, donors received refreshments and a complimentary bag of “Mr. Thai Rice”.
