SIBU: Both the K9 and drone units have been roped in to assist in the search of Kuta Jenang at Kem Belia Kemuyang area.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) from Sibu Jaya station together with government agencies and villagers continued on the fifth day of search and rescue operation for the 81-year-old man.
They commenced their search at 10am within the five kilometres radius from the control post and Zone C.
According to the State Fire and Rescue Operation Centre, the team focused their search towards the Sepudai area using a boat.
Despite the deployment of the K9 Unit and Drone Unit from the police Air Unit, the search operation has yet to find the victim.
Kuta was reported missing by his wife, and said that he was believed to be in the forest at Kem Belia Kemuyang on Aug 20 and had not returned home.
Family members and villagers conducted a search for the elderly man, only to find the victim’s hat.
