SARIKEI: A total of 87 development projects under the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA), worth RM1.525 billion, are currently in various stages of implementation.
Deputy Minister of Urban Development, Land Administration and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, said that 43 of these projects, valued at RM842.53 million, are poised to commence in 2025, pending final approval for consultant appointments by the State Financial Secretary’s Office (SFS).
He added that this number could potentially increase following these approvals.
“To date, 27 projects have received consultant approvals from SFS, while four have been partially approved, focusing solely on survey consultants. Meanwhile, 12 projects are being managed internally, 34 are in the process of consultant selection, and 10 are awaiting nominations,” he said after chairing the RADDA Steering Committee Meeting No. 2/2024 at the Resident’s Office, Level 12, Sarawak Government Administrative Centre today (Nov 26).
The RADDA Steering Committee also confirmed amendments to the project list, which now includes projects in N41 Kuala Rajang, N42 Semop, N44 Jemoreng, and N58 Balingian.
Len, who is also the Kuala Rajang assemblyman, said that the initial proposal for the 87 projects was approved during the RADDA Steering Committee Meeting No. 1/2024 on July 16.
Also present were Deputy Minister in the Premier’s department (Corporate Affairs and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol; Advisor at the Premier’s Office Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom; Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing; Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad and Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yaakub Arbi.
