MIRI: Nine individuals, aged between 15 and 19, have been detained by the police in the early hours of yesterday morning at various locations within Taman Tunku for their alleged involvement in a massive brawl on Wednesday.
A 16-year-old male was reported to have sustained bodily injuries during the incident.
Most of the suspects arrested are still studying, while two are no longer students.
Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah confirmed the arrest when contacted yesterday.
“The commotion arise because of a misunderstanding between the victim and his assailants,” he said.
Prior to the incident, a conflict occurred between them in a school compound and this escalated into a brawl on Wednesday at 2.30pm.
