MATU: What was initially believed to be a large fish turned out to be a nine-foot-long crocodile entangled in fishing net in Kampung Bruan on Thursday.
Civil Defence Force (APM) officer Lt. Jumaat Akasas said they received a report about the incident at 10.50 pm
A team was swiftly dispatched to the scene after being alerted to the reptile’s presence.
Initially, a fisherman, in his 70s, noticed something entangled in his fishing net in a lake in front of his house.
The elderly man presumed it was a large fish caught in the net. However, upon closer inspection, it was discovered to be a crocodile.
The team successfully captured the crocodile and transported it back to the APM Matu control centre for further action.
