SARIKEI: A family were left shocked after finding a nine-foot long python coiled up in a chicken coop at Lorong 2C, Jalan Rentap today (Jan 11).
It was reported that the reptile had devoured a chicken after it slithered into the chicken coop.
The sighting of the python prompted the family to alert the Civil Defence Force (APM) Sarikei at 7.08 am as they feared for their safety.
Following that, a team was deployed to the scene to capture the slithery creature.
Upon arrival, they found that the python was still inside the chicken coop and managed to catch it with a snake hook and tong.
The reptile was later released into its original habitat, away from the residential areas.
