BETONG: Areas around Bukit Sadok stand to gain from a road project launched by Layar assemblyman Gerald Rentap Jabu today.
According to Rentap the nine-kilometre road will connect Teguyu, Lempaong, Batu Pesok, Rantau Layang and Perdu phase one at Spak.
“Once completed, the road will surely trigger opening up of land, and in particular, the development of the agricultural area at Bukit Sadok,” he said at an earth-breaking TR Kasa long house.
Rentap the road will be a standard R1 class and is expected to be completed in 27 months, or June 2021.
“The construction of road is the initiative of the state government under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) under its infrastructure development policy,” he added.
Rentap was accompanied by among others, a political secretary to the chief minister Dr Richard Rapu, and Betong District Officer Sofhi Jebal.
