LAWAS: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan recently distributed Temporary Occupation Licences (TOLs) and land compensation cheques to a total of 90 recipients.
The recipients came from various schemes, including the Kuala Lawas Village Expansion Scheme (SPK) Phase 1, Kampung Sundar Scheme Phase 1, Air Terjun Lawas Scheme, and Lukutan/Karangan/Loagan Scheme.
Additionally, 22 individuals received compensation cheques related to the Sarawak/Sabah Border 276KV Transmission Line Project.
The distribution ceremony took place at Ibnu Sina Hall, SK Agama MIS Lawas.
Awang Tengah reminded the recipients that land under TOL are strictly for residential use and should not be repurposed.
He also encouraged them to collaborate closely with implementing agencies to manage the process effectively.
The Bukit Sari assemblyman also highlighted the government’s plans to connect Limbang and Lawas to the state grid, which will significantly enhance electricity supply in these areas.
He assured that those eligible for compensation, including Native Customary Rights (NCR) holders with proper documentation, would receive their payments.
To facilitate this process, he announced a reduction in the land premium to RM2,500.
Also present were Limbang Division Resident Unus Tambi, Limbang Division Land and Survey Authority Officer Bakeri Samsudin, and political secretary of Premier, Awangku Jinal Abedin Datuk Pengiran Jawa.
