District police chief ACP Awang Din Awang Gani said 70 men and 23 women had been found violating recovery movement control order (RMCO) SOP.

“Ninety-one compounds were issued to individuals in separate inspections around Kuching.

“An investigation was opened under Regulation 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) (No. 7) Regulations 2020 and Section 269 of the Penal Code on two Indonesian citizens for not complying with SOP,” he said in a statement.

Of the inspections carried out around Kuching city, ACP Awang Din said two entertainment centres had been inspected twice.

Inspections on the entertainment centres in Jalan Petanak and Jalan Stutong resulted in 62 patrons compounded.
