9,500 face masks distributed to frontliners

MIRI: A total of 9,500 pieces of face masks were donated to frontliners in the district who are working to curb the spread of Covid-19 yesterday.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Assistant Minister cum Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, who presented the donation to the groups, said that the masks were contributed by the community of Miri.

“I am thankful that this contribution will be given to frontliners who are now fighting against the virus,” he said.

About 190 boxes were distributed accordingly to the front-line groups yesterday.

Miri Hospital received 40 boxes of face masks, Fire and Rescue Department (30 boxes), the armed forces (30 boxes), Civil Defence Force (20 boxes), Immigration Department (20 boxes), Customs Department (20 boxes), the People’s Volunteer Corps (20 boxes), and Welfare Department (10 boxes).

Ting added that everyone should work together to overcome this Covid-19 pandemic and advised to look after one another during this crisis.
