KUCHING: A total of 97 persons received state awards and medals from Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud in an investiture ceremony held at the Dewan Besar Astana Negeri here yesterday.
Leading the recipients was Samarahan Resident Brahim Lumpu who was awarded the Johan Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (JPC).
Nine persons received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) award. They included Datin Saadiah Buji, Dr Asmah@Rajemah Othman, Dr Eunice Melissa Joseph and Norleha Sharif.
Twenty-two persons received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB), 19 awarded the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS), and 27 others received the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) award.
Nineteen civil servants also received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) during the ceremony.
Among those present at the investiture ceremony were Taib’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, Assistant Minister of Infrastructure and Ports Development Datuk Julaihi Narawi and Deputy State Secretary (Performance and Service Delivery Transformation) Datuk Dr Sabariah Putit.
