KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud conferred Sarawak state awards on 98 recipients during an investiture ceremony at Dewan Besar Astana Negeri here on Wednesday (Nov 4).
The ceremony commenced with the awarding of the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam, Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB) to two recipients, namely assistant director in the Administrative Unit of the Chief Minister’s Department, Azmi Usup, and assistant secretary at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development, Mansor Borhan.
This was followed by the conferment of Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS) to 62 recipients preceded by Datin Awing Wan.
Meanwhile, 34 recipients were awarded the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingkat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT).
Also present were Taib’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib; State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar and other dignitaries.
