KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 2,358 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (Sept 28), a slight drop compared to the 2,723 cases registered on Monday (Sept 27).
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said this brought the state’s case tally to 204,170.
Of the 2,358 new cases reported, 2,344 or 99.41 per cent were in Categories 1 (no symptoms) or 2 (mild symptoms), while 14 or 0.59 per cent were in Categories 3 (lung infection), 4 (lung infection and requires oxygen), or 5 (lung infection and requires ventilator).
“893 cases or 37.87 per cent are in Category 1 whereas 1,451 or 61.54 per cent are in Category 2.
“There are nine cases or 0.38 per cent in Category 3, three cases or 0.13 per cent in Category 4, and two cases or 0.08 per cent in Category 5,” it said in its daily Covid-19 statement on Tuesday.
SDMC said 657 of the new cases were reported in Kuching District, Sibu (255), Bintulu (183), Miri (181), Samarahan (134), Limbang (121), Sri Aman (104), Sarikei (99), Lundu (85), Mukah (71), Betong (61), Serian (58), Asajaya (45), Bau (39), Pusa (36), Dalat (31), Kapit (28), Simunjan (27), Saratok (23), Pakan (15), Lawas (15), Lubok Antu (13), Kanowit (11), Subis (10), Tanjung Manis (9), Meradong (9), Julau (7), Selangau (7), Belaga (6), Tatau (6), Bukit Mabong (5), Song (2), Tebedu (2), Kabong (1), Daro (1), and Matu (1).
It also announced the end of two clusters in the state, namely the Paon Rimu Cluster in Serian and Sungai Sangan Cluster in Tatau, as no new case involving these clusters had been reported in the last 28 days.
“Ten clusters saw a total of 106 new cases on Tuesday,” it said, adding that there were 115 active clusters remaining in Sarawak.
