KUCHING: Zainul Oli has been appointed as acting head of Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Sarawak. The head of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Santubong Ahmad Nazib Johari (pic) told reporters about this yesterday at Kampung Bintawa Hilir, Petra Jaya, during a Hari Raya Aidiladha gathering. He added that according to the party’s constitution the matter is under the jurisdiction of the central AMK rather than the branch chairman.
“Therefore, in a meeting between the central AMK and the state’s body, they decided to appoint Zainul Oli on a temporary basis,” he said. He explained that the head of AMK must be elected and this will happen in the near future. On preparations for the next state election, Ahmad said they had moved their machinery to three constituencies – Pantai Damai, Demak Laut and Tanjung Datu – where the operations room will be ready for use soon.
“We will finalise all the branches and reactivate all programmes at their level,” he said. He further noted that currently PKR is registering new members, and the party wants to make the community aware of the various programmes of the federal government such as i-Suri and eKasih.
For Hari Raya Aidiladha, Ahmad revealed that they slaughtered a cow with the participation of local residents who cut, weighed and packaged the meat. The target was to distribute 80 packets of beef to residents of Kpg Bintawa Hilir.
