KUCHING: Police smashed a vehicle theft syndicate on October 15 following the arrest of three suspects.
Sarawak CID chief, SAC Denis Leong said police also seized what they believed to be stolen vehicles and house-breaking tools.
He said a CID team from IPK Sarawak, IPD Kuching, IPD Padawan and IPD Kota Samarahan were on a special operation along Kuching/Serian Road when they made the arrest of the three males aged between 33 and 42.
In the operation, two vehicles, several car keys of various models, remote controls, handphones and tools for housebreaking and vehicle theft were seized.
“Investigation at this stage has revealed that those arrested are involved in housebreaking and vehicle theft in Kuching, Padawan and Kota Samarahan.
“We believe that with this arrest, we have solved 40 housebreaking and 30 vehicle theft cases,” he added.
