AIDEL Lariwoo (GPS-Sadong Jaya) voiced out his concern on the whereabouts of the RM2.059 billion allocation for federal projects in the state that were cancelled, postponed and placed under KIV (keep in view) since Pakatan Harapan (PH) came to power.
He suspected that the funds were diverted elsewhere for other projects and purposes.
“When the projects were approved, the money for these projects already existed.
“Thus, we felt that when they (PH government) canceled or suspended the projects, we suspected that they have diverted the money to West Malaysia, maybe in Kedah, Pulau Pinang, or for the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR),” he said at a press conference in the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building.
He explained that, the ceiling was supposed to be there but it was empty, none for 13 projects totaling RM2.059 billion.
“Where did the money go? Sarawak is a big contributor to the federal government,” he said.
Regarding oil royalty, Aidel added that since 1974, Sarawak have only acquired 5 percent royalty.
According to him, from 1975 until 2017, the federal government only provided RM33 billion in cash compensation.
Gerald Rentap Jabu (GPS-Layar), who was also at the press conference, gave his comments on Ali Biju (PH-Krian) who questioned the Court’s decision towards the land-taking in Zaharah Mustapha Raja Sewa.
“Strangely, Ali blamed the judge. Why did he bring it to the High Court when it should be settled in the Native Customs Court?
“They claimed the government took the land. But he blamed the judge and when he was asked to explain, he said to ask the judge.
“Where is the slogan of the rule of law? That is why we are still challenging for Ali to present evidence of the government taking over people’s lands under Section 6,” he added.
