MIRI: Prodigy 6 from the Sarawak State Library, Miri branch was awarded five stars and received the Industry 4.0 Award during the 2019 Annual Productivity and Innovation Conference and Exposition (Apic 2019).
The event, organised by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation, was held at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre from November 5 to 7.
The team was selected by the Chief Minister’s Office to take part in the competition representing the state.
They presented a project entitled ‘Augmented Reality Interactive Collections’, where they created an online database using AR technologies on the collection of paintings or drawings by Sarawak’s local artistes available at the Sarawak State Library.
The data in the form of video descriptions based on the background of certain paintings can be accessed by following the ARIC id in the HP Reveal application which is downloadable from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
The library brought home a trophy, certificate of recognition and a special award for Industrial Recognition.
