KUCHING: The component parties of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) have been told to prepare their weapons.

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said the fight against Pakatan Harapan (PH) begins now even though the 12th state election is about two years away.

“The election will be an unprecedented one because it will be a fight between two governments,” he said at the GPS Convention at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

Dr Sim said Sarawak must not fall to PH or else everything GPS stands for such as the state rights to its oil and gas and immigration will be lost to the Malayans.

“We must get ready. We must brace for a fight to the last and not fear whoever is against us.

“We must remain united to continue to protect Sarawak’s rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63),” he said.

Dr Sim said SUPP and he were proud to be part of GPS because after 56 years dancing to Malayan music, Sarawak is standing on its own feet, can speak for the rights of Sarawakians and free to chart its own destiny under GPS.

“Today our fight is Sarawak for Sarawakians, but if PH wins, it will be Sarawak for Malaya.

“Let’s not allow that to happen. The Sarawakian spirit must be kept alive,” Dr Sim said.
