KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) today announced an income distribution of 4.25 sen per unit for ASN Imbang (Mixed Asset Balance) 1, amounting to a total pay-out of RM55.53 million, for the financial year ending Nov 30, 2019.
The wholly-owned unit trust company of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) said this translates into a dividend yield of 4.51 per cent based on the net asset value (NAV) of the fund as at Nov 27.
In a statement today, ASNB said the total payout will benefit over 46,600 unitholders with over 1.31 billion units held.
As at Oct 31, 2019, the variable price fund, previously known as Amanah Saham Nasional 3 Imbang, recorded a net realised income of RM55.87 million for the first 11 months of its financial year.
“The domestic equity market has continued to be affected by increased uncertainties following developments on several fronts, in the international and domestic environments,” PNB group chairman Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz said.
She said as at Nov 20, 2019, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI posted a year-to-date return of minus 5.3 per cent compared to minus 5.9 per cent in the same period of 2018.
“Inevitably, the performance of ASNB unit trust funds would be affected by these developments,” Zeti said.
While the challenging global economic climate is expected to persist, PNB remains committed to delivering the investment objective of the fund to generate reasonable return through balanced and diversified portfolio of investment, she added.
Distribution declared will be reinvested as additional units into the accounts of unit holders and automatically credited into their accounts on Dec 1, 2019.
All transactions for ASN Imbang 1 will be suspended from Nov 29 to Dec 1, 2019, to facilitate the computation of income distribution.
Unitholders may update their accounts when transactions resume on Dec 2. – Bernama
