KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Satok Youth welcomes the state government’s move to provide more space for food truck traders in the city.

Its Youth chief Dzamaluddin Zainudin said the move was necessary since the traders had murmured about the lack of space to do their business.

“Providing space for the food truck traders will help them to operate their business properly.

“In fact, the number of traders taking part in the food truck industry continues to increase here in Kuching,” he said when interviewed at the launch of Satok Street Fest 2019 yesterday.

Dzamaluddin pointed out that transforming the parking space under the Satok flyover into an area specifically for truck operations from Friday night until Sunday night could also attract more tourists to Satok.

“With the approval, now we are able to show to the visitors that the food truck business exists in Kuching,” he added.

Dzamaluddin urged youths to grab the opportunity to start their business in this industry.

“We hope this will encourage more youths to be involved in this industry,” he said.
