KUCHING: Sarawak police have expressed utmost gratitude to the state government for the RM500 special assistance to federal civil servants serving in the state.

Sarawak Police commissioner Datuk Ramli Din in welcoming the announcement by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg last Wednesday, said it was a recognition from the state government to the federal civil servants for their services to the state.

“This will ease the financial burden faced by civil servants and we are thankful for the initiative taken by the state government,” he told reporters after paying a courtesy call on the chief minister at Wisma Bapa Malaysia yesterday.

The special assistance will benefit some nine thousand policemen serving statewide.
