KUCHING: The state government will look into the recent banning entry for Sabah politician Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg when asked whether he was aware of the matter, stated that he only knows that Jeffrey is in the (entry ban) list.
“I will find out… I will check (about the matter),” he told reporters after officiating the New Year Gathering 2020 and DBNA 65th anniversary at DBNA headquarters last night.
Earlier, Jeffrey who is the Keningau MP in a statement, said he was denied entry to Sarawak for the second time, with the first being in February 2017.
He had applied for a special entry pass to chair the Dayak International Organisation meeting that was held in Kuching yesterday afternoon and to speak at a forum organised by Sarawak For Change (S4C) today (Jan 11).
However, he received a negative reply instead and accused the Sarawak state government of abusing its immigration powers.
