SIBU: The Barisan Nasional (BN)/Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) team recently handed over daily necessities and wheelchairs to 13 families with disabilities from the Usahajaya area here.
Present were the potential candidate for Lanang Constituency, Kelvin Kong and Councillor Joseph Chieng and entourage led by the chairman of Saberkas Usahajaya Unit, Waili Ali.
After that, the team continued with its visits to the longhouses in Assan Nunggang and Batu Wong.
According to Kong, the purpose of the visits is to reach out with the people, particularly the rural folks, and get direct feedback from them.
The longhouses were Rumah Banon, Rumah Mat, Rumah Badong, Rumah Tilit, Rumah Sejun, Rumah Linggir, Rumah Mubis, Rumah Remba and Rumah Alice Nori.
“During the visits, various forms of assistance were given out including funds, fans and kitchen tools,” he said.
