SIMUNJAN: Sarawak Police Commissioner (CP) Datuk Ramli Din made a working visit to Simunjan police headquarters last Friday.

He was greeted by Simunjan district police chief DSP Merbin Lisa and 50 police officers.

Apart from visiting the headquarters, he also attended the ‘Rindok Digital’ programme at Dewan Mesra, which Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg officiated at.

In his address to the staff of Simunjan police headquarters, he wanted to ensure that arrests or raids on crime, gambling, narcotics cases would be enhanced.

“It should be shown how serious the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) is in addressing this problem before it gets rampant.

“Aggressive investigation must be carried out to ensure that every case reported by the Investigation Officer (IO) or Assistant Investigating Officer (AIO) is investigated until it is completed or the criminal is arrested,” he said.

Ramli added that integrated approaches should also be adopted between neighbouring police headquarters, especially those with limited resources to enhance arrests and criminal/drug case resolution.

He continued to emphasise that all ranks of officers/members should maintain the spirit of esprit de corps (group spirit) by working as a team and being sincere without expecting a reward.

He also advised the police officers to stay disciplined, especially against drug and corruption, and to always maintain a good and close relationship with each other in line with the slogan ‘Polis dan Masyarakat berpisah tiada’ (The Police and Community Never Divided).
