MIRI: Three Chinese schools under Sibuti constituency on Thursday received grants totalling RM90,000 from the state government.

Those schools were Tadika Cina Sungai Rait Bakam (RM35,000); SJK Chung Hwa Sibuti (RM25,000); and SJK Chung Hwa Sungai Lumut Sibuti (RM 30,000).

The grants were presented by Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni yesterday morning at their respective schools.

According to Lukanisman, these grants were meant to help fund the upgrading works of the schools’ buildings and multipurpose halls.

He added that the state government will continue to support and assist Chinese schools in Sarawak.

“It has been the state government’s policy to assist and recognise the importance of Chinese schools,” he said.
